Ok here are shots I got today of a 5 alarm fire at an apartment building being built in a very expensive part of town that I took.

I later found out I wasn't supposed to be where I was when I took these h:

Sweet pics. I would try to sell them to the local paper or news stations.

 

I talked to the local papers image editor but he isn't calling me back. I talked to him at the fire itself and told him I had exclusive shots from behind the lines. He gave me his card and said to call him but if he waits much longer he is going to be too late to get it to press.

 

WOW. Time and time again Nightshade only impresses me further with his talent and skill with photography. Its like every shot is awesome. Places you right in the action, "behind the lines" and gives an overpowering sense of OMG. lol

Well this was just luck of the draw really. I was driving home and saw a lot of smoke rising up. After a lot of work trying to find the location I came up on the backside of it all.

I thought I would be stopped from getting anything decent but the fire departments PIC (person in charge) simply asked me if I was press. I told her I was freelance and she gave me a quick scoop on what was happening then left.

I climbed down between some houses and ended up right on top of the area that was burning so I started shooting. No one told me I couldn't until my roll was 4 shots from done so I just walked out taking pics as I went.

It was a serious rush...I really can't describe how cool it was.

I took the pics at about 1pm this afternoon, they were developed and in my computer by 3pm

Actually there was a garage unit that was framed up across from the buildings that were burning and I was in there standing about 5-10 feet behind him. We chatted for a bit then I got that shot and moved on.
