Default Avoid Getting Scammed

I hate seeing all those "I got scammed" posts. I'd like to start a thread strictly full of advice on how to avoid getting scammed. We have tips in the buy/sell forums https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=181250, but if anyone has anything other advice, please post up.

Maybe a story about a particular thing scammers like to do. Maybe a tip or trick that they have used that we should watch out for. I'm looking to get posts about the non-obvious things too look for (not obvious things like don't use Western Union).

I'd like to this to be a very informative thread, so preferably no posts like "yeah, my brother got scammed one time, it sucked".

Hopefully we can get some good info together in one place and maybe save somebody some money.
