2 months ago, I got a MISB TRU Thundercracker for $5 on a Saturday night on eBay. Before that, Hambone found piles of Dirges for $7 at TRU on clearance. Those D-22 Takara Starscreams were never THAT rare, I think we all got ours for $30-ish, tops.

Honestly, I've been toy collecting for quite some time now, I've never seen prices explode so quickly. Last summer, Takara #00 Prime could be purchased for $100. I even saw him at a local shop for that price, passed ... because it was "too expensive". Now, he's a BARGIN at $250 shipped.

The strange thing is, a $30 Starscream investment is more sound than dropping $30 into Wall Street stocks. Forget plasti-crack, this is plasti-cash.

That's a pretty good idea.

Top 3, be sure to put a reason with it ... Bottom 3, I'll just post Wheelie 3 times.

Adding the reasons for both the top and bottom three is a good idea. I was also thinking of including purchase price & current market price of the top and bottom three. It should be interesting what pops up.

...and wheelie can only occupy 1 slot in the bottom three.

just a heads up, TFC #21 has final production pictures up on @ e-hobby.

Steeljaw is finally filled into the images ...

Here's TwinCast with Flip Sides

and here's the group shot.

reminder, Twin Cast is SOLD OUT from e-hobby. Your only shot to get one is to preorder though TFSource or BBTS asap. Twin Cast is a legit G1 figure and was the good counter part to Soundblaster. (In the TF Headmaster series, both Blaster and Soundwave battle to the death ... they're both resurrected resurrected later on)

for people SLACKING on purchasing a Cybertron Galvatron (cough Saab) ... hurry, or you're out of luck.

Hasbro is changing the US bronze Galvatrons to match the yellow JDM versions.

The first runs of Galvatron contained a metallic bronze color, which all the US collectors loved ... it's now gone.

Andrew,

Do you think TFC 21 Blaster will eventually gain the same momentum as TFC 10 Soundwave has now? Soundwave always had such broad appeal for TF collectors and the casual TF fan. I'm wondering if the same holds true for Blaster.

I'm still on the fence about doubling up on TFC 21. Doubling up on e-Hobby Twincast is a no brainer because e-Hobby releases appreciate in value quickly.

====

Using the "edit" feature like we were instructed...

RE: Cybertron Galvatron. Crud. I was always going to get a Cybertron Galvatron, but was waiting. Now they're changing the color to match the JDM limited edition? That blows twice-over for me. :angry:

Every Cybertron Galvatron I've come across has had a mauled box. Finding one that I would be happy with is nearly impossible.

======

We should also change the title of this thread to "Transformers Investors."

There is no doubt. After buying so many figures, I get a "feeling" about certain ones. I'm pretty sure Monk can say the same thing. TFC 21 is one of those.

TF collecting is at its highest point ever. There are so many toys being offered, it'll make your head spin.

US: Cybertron, Alternators, Beast Wars, Universe, Star Wars ...
Japan: Galaxy Force, Takara reissues, TFC reissues, e-Hobby, Binaltech, bottle caps, PVCs ...
(can't forget the recently ended lines like 2005's Robot Masters, Energon, Super Link)

even though the mainstream flood of toys, Blaster was a G1 main character. He's not some lame 2 episode guy like Hoist, Grapple, Inferno, Smokescreen, Skids, etc ... Look at the highest priced TFC's:

00 Prime, 01 Jazz, 06 Megatron, 09 Starscream, 10 Soundwave, 12 Minibots ... what do they have in common? They were in the G1 cartoon almost everyday.

Why doesn't Twincast come with two tapes like Soundblaster does?
