I was asking why you didn't ask me directly where I got the pics instead of saying "where does he" get the pics from. Just seemed odd

American Honda Sales Climb 18 Percent to New May Record of 130,454

TORRANCE, Calif., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- American Honda Motor Co., Inc., recorded its best-ever May with sales of 130,454, up 18 percent, to achieve the second largest sales month in the company's history.
New all-time records for May include total truck sales of 51,598, up 57.2 percent and Acura division sales of 16,495. All-time record Odyssey sales of 15,974 were up 14.2 percent while CR-V sales rose 13.1 percent to 13,772, and Pilot reached 9,777. American Honda sales of 558,743 for the calendar year are running 14.4 percent ahead of last year's record setting pace.
Honda Division set a new May record and broke the 100,000 barrier for the third consecutive month with sales of 113,959, an increase of 21.6 percent. The all-new Element recorded its best sales month to date, 6,982, since it went on sale in December 2002. Year-to-date sales for the division are up 18 percent led by strong Accord sales of 37,210, up 11.5 percent for the month and up 9 percent since January.
Acura division posted a new all-time record for a single month with 16,495 sales, breaking the previous mark of 16,333 set in August 2002. Robust sales of the new TSX sports sedan, combined with strong sales of the TL and MDX, helped push Acura sales to a new high.
"American Honda continues to grow by expanding into new light truck markets while boosting its momentum in automobiles with class-leading vehicles like the Honda Accord and Acura TSX," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Even in a tough market, both Honda and Acura Divisions are showing remarkable success."

- That damn Camry!
- Element is still doing shockingly well.
- TSX is experiencing very strong sales. More than the Jag X-Type.

Where you get these sales figures from? i.e Battle of Minivans, Mid-Luxury cars, etc.

I made them up. Actually I got them from PR News Wire and Nissannews.com.

There was no reason to quote my entire post

How many think the Element will pass up the Rav4? They were very close last month and Honda can easily increase production (which i'm sure demand is outstripping supply)

:dunno: either, but that is interesting.

But thinking about it even further, with the Acura TL, TSX, and CL, Acura has the second highest volume in that class with those similar platform vehicle's sales combined.

That's wtih a very old TL based on the old Accord. The new one is bound to seel a lot better. I also think the TSX can do better than 15,000 a year.

I think we discussed this last year in the 03 Accord thread. The new Accord is really not on a new platform, hence the reason why I said 'similar' platform, because the TL is the large Accord platform. The 7th gen Accord basically rides on the same platform as the 6th gen, which the TL is also based on. Honda typically introduces a new platform every other generation. But this does not mean that the 6th and 7th generation Accord rides the same at all.

Either way, Acura still sits in number 2 in total volume in the entry level premium class.

I was bringing up the G35s/G35c because the platform, suspension, engine are the same. While the TL and TSX are not exactly the same. If anything, the TL/CL is a better pair to combine sales. But you're right, Acura still sits in #2 in total volume in the entry level premium class but their average sale price of the entry level luxury is also the lowest.

I know. I never suggested Acura should combined those 3.

Point taken. Anyhow, I'm sure the G35 coupe can easily outsell the sedan if they can produce enough of it. Last I check, they're selling as many as they can make.
