I'm at odds with teh matrix/corolla grouping...if they are basically the same car then i don't really mind...the civic si is very akin to the matrix and it is included in the normal civic sales (though it is a very poor seller)...honda is more honest keeping the civic name attached to cars it will group together...toyota will give it a completely different name (matrix, solara, etc.) but group them on sales charts

That's like saying a Corolla and a Corolla GTS are not both Corolla's... both of them have the "Corolla" name, but the GTS was RWD with the 4age (on the AE86 platform) and the 4-doors were on the AE82 platform with a different engine, different body, and different drive (FWD, not RWD)...
IMO the Matrix and the Corolla are closer together than when Toyota had the Corolla and the Corolla GTS in the lineup...
Heck, if you want to be super-picky you could roll Pontiac Vibe and Chevy Prizm sales into the Corolla/Matrix group as well...

Toyota is gay like that. We should start to include the MDX and Pilot with Odyssey sales with this sort of logic.
They do it so they can say that the Corolla outsells the Civic.
