The article with that picture says the Euro-Accord will have a 180hp 2.4l iVTEC I4. I see this engine as the standard US Accord engine (bragging rights... most powerful standard engine) and the standard TSX engine. Since Honda is know for its techo-fours (as opposed to others 'no replacement for displacement' idea) I think a 240hp 2.4l would be more realistic (plus it could be used in the JDM Accord Type-R to save developement costs). A higher revving 4 might not be as luxurious as a 6, but it looks like Honda is going for sport.

250hp base engine? I don't think so. Then the TSX Type-S would have to have like a 300hp engine. They may give TL and CL more hp than the RL... but there's no way they'll give their entry sedan more hp than the NSX. I think 180hp base... 250 Type-S.

That doesnt deserve a reply.
You should have said........
You're joking right? Thats too much hp for the base engine, theyll have the 250hp saved for the Type S.
In that case, that does deserve a response. I forgot about the Type S

It sounds like the Accord is getting a 180hp engine... this would be a good start for the TSX. Comparble base models have: A4 1.8t - 170hp, New 9-3 - 170hp, 325i - 185hp, X-Type 2.5 - 194hp, C260 - 168hp, Passat 1.8t - 170hp, IS - 215hp. I consider those vehicles as the competition. The TL competes more with the CTS, S60, G35, and upper trim versions of the prementioned models. I can see the next TL moving up to compete more with G35, CTS, S60, Passat W8, more so than competiting A4 3.0, 330i, X-Type 3.0, C320. Perhaps this is why they're goin with TSX. It'll be easier to move people from TL to TSX than say IUD (plus thats just retarded). I don't think TL is going away, just the opposite. If luxury cars went by size, TL would compete with E-Class, 5-Series, S80, A6, etc. I think now that the Acura name is worth something, Acura will move the TL up gradually.
Therefore, I expect the Accord to go to 160hp 2.4 DX, 180hp 2.4 LX, 2.4 EX, 225hp 3.0 (K30 iVTEC) LX, 3.0 (K30 iVTEC) EX. Perhaps the Si in 2yrs when sales start to slow. I think the TSX will be 180hp and TSXS will be 225hp (with the 3.0... I've rethought my previous statement). I think this is so because a 70hp jump is big for a Type-S. RSXS only gets 40hp more, TLS only gets 35hp more. Then again they could just stick the 260hp 2.0 RSX engine stock and the 200hp RSXS engine optional?

I don't wanna predict the RL. A front-engined version of hte DNX would be cool, but they may just stick with the current Japanese Buick idea.
