You can now build one at mazdausa.com. What I noticed was that the torque on the automatic is more than on the 6 speed.
Automatic: 210hp/7200RPM Torque 164/5000RPM
6 Speed: 250hp/8500RPM Torque 159/5500RPM

I like it the more I look at it. I just wonder how much room is inside for my 6'3" 220lb figure. I think it's a bargain at $29K for either a fully loaded automatic or the 6 speed.

What do you guys think of it?

I like it a lot, about time Mazda reintroduced the rotary. I'd personally hang out for the genuine 2-door RX-8 to debut later, cleaner looking lines IMO. But seemingly a great car, nonetheless.

I like it a lot , one more relatively affordable sport car in the market now.

Whatever you do, don't get the automatic.

A 2-door/2-seater would probably be called the RX-7.

automatic is not all bad to some people though. Especially if you have to deal w/ traffic like LA.

I don't like it. I think the G35C represents a much better car at a similiar price...but I'd have to drive one. to see fo sho. I find it very ugly though. Hopefully the handling and drivetrain make up for that.

why would you buy the womens edition RX-8 and have a lower power engine that still has to go thru a torque converter. Some thing goes for the NSX automatic. If you cant enjoy the car, dont drive it to work everyday.

On paper, I like the G35C more. The only thing I like about the RX-8 is its lower weight.

You like the styling of the RX-8 better?

since i'm a sportscar fan i'd choose the rx8 b/c 400-500lbs makes a huge difference...if i was more of a muscle car fan i'd look at the 350z b/c of its higher displacement...most racing series penalize other cars by adding weight (slows the car down at all levels where hp added only helps one area)
