When a Ford GT40 turns out to not be a GT40....
So yeah, just saw this on Autoweek TV.
Apparently, some small company owns the name "GT40" and wanted more money than Ford was willing to pay for the name. So the new car that's coming out and bears a striking resemblance to the GT40 and up until now has been called the GT40, isn't going to be the GT40.
Silly Ford; or perhaps I should be mad at that company for trying to capitalize on a historical name like GT40. Nah.

But what I don't understand is why doesn't Ford name it the GT54 or some number after the GT. They did have a GT90 concept a decade ago. :dunno:

Yeah, this is kinda old. They gonna call it the Ford GT. The GT40 wouldn't really be a correct model name anyway, since the new car is 44 inches tall.
