Default Where Chrysler will be 2005.

The new owners at my dealership spent the last weekend at a chrysler convention down in vegas, where they talk about what new models will come out and basic news of where chrysler is going. by 2005, chrysler will have exceeded toyota in quality. hard to believe from where they stand now, but daimlerchrysler has dropped all suplier and will no longer make "shit", sell "shit", or support "shit". german discipline will mix with american pizazz(sp?).

chrysler (brand) will step up to entry level luxury. new models pacific and crossfire are built in part with mercedes and are completely beautiful. inside and out. the quality is the best. this is where chrysler is going.

some jeep news: 03 grand production is stopped. 04 has started... expect them early 03 redesigned, navi, and all. 04 commander will debut late 03 with 3rd row seating.

a new chrysler model will debut every 6 months for the next 3 years.. current models rebuilt with new suppliers.. chrysler will no long mirror any other cars they produce (dodge, mitsu [25%])

just some news.. i am excited to see everything...

I think that's what alot of people have been praying for. Good to see Daimler digging in to Chrysler and really turing it arround. That's amazing, if you think about it: it used to be that Chrysler was always the last third of the big three. Perhaps they could get to #1? If Daimler quality and reliability show through, I may do something I never thought possible and actually think about buying a Chrysler product! We'll see.

last year the big 3 sales fell (gm more than others)...and this year ford is the lowest right now and gm is doing the best so far...dcx is only stagnant right now with their models...they haven't been gaining marketshare for a long time now

Ambitious, to say the least.

I can see DC pulling Chrysler up to Mercedes' level quality, but surpassing Toyota? Even DC's Mercedes-Benz brand hasn't been able to do surpass Toyota. And let's not even talk about Lexus.

There are some suspect Mercedes vehicles, mainly their sport utes. But the heart of the products (C-Klasse) have a great track record. I just wish they offered true manual transmissions on most of their models. No matter how perfect you can make an autoshift, there's still only two pedals.

Chrysler is the only American brand I would buy, except for the Corvette. I was just thinking about that today. They certainly have progressed a long way.

I don't think I'm alone in believing that other than their S-Class, I wouldn't trust any Mercedes-brand vehicle more than a Toyota or Lexus brand. That goes for BMW too, but at least BMW's aren't all old fogey cars.
