Please, the new SI is pathetic, they just released it to kill off the RSX.

Have you driven it? You're becoming a joke in this forum.

I haven't driven the new Si yet but from reviews I've read, it is the best Si ever. And I just purchased a lowly 2006 Civic LX and it is by far the sportiest Civic have ever driven not counting the 99-00 Si's. So I don't understand what you guys are saying about the Civic moving backwards. It is not plush or soft riding like a Corolla. The suspension is much more stiff almost as much as a Mazda3. The engine may be a little weak but you can't say it's a step backward when the previous generation had 127hp. Anyway that's what the Si is for if you want more power. The only thing is the car is very ugly but oh well, hopefully I will grow to love it.

So on the same note, that's what this Sentra is gonna be. The bread and butter of the line. For those who want more power, there's no question Nissan will release an SE-R version. I'm guessing they're working on an engine that can produce at least 200 hp. The old 2.5 just won't cut it.

This Sentra will probably do better than the B15 Sentra in sales. It's bigger, and better looking inside and out. The HP is alright, but with 140 ft-lb of tq, it should be sufficient for this class of car. Due to the torque, it probably feel faster than the Civic and Corolla. Mileage is alright at 29 city and 38 freeway. Also, Nissan will replace all FWD automatic transmission with CVT.

The Renault Megane uses the same 2.0L but turbo charged and it's putting out 225HP. So I'm sure the SE-R will be quite similar to that considering Ghosn likes to share parts.

No, haven't driven the new one, but from what I hear its only quick in the straight line. With macperson strut suspension it'll never handle quite like the old Integra, especially Type R with LSD. Might as well slap some stiffer springs on corolla and it'll be just as sporty as the new Civic, and much less ugly.

if you're going to compare the new SI with previous generation Hondas, compare them with the previous SI's not an Integra Type R.

I dont think they're corolla like...

Yeah, but Integra is no longer made, and the pathetic RSX it was replaced with is getting cancelled. So the SI is now becoming Honda's sports compact flagship like the ITR once was - however its just not up to par.
