But I think the main downfall of the Camry's interior is the design. It looks like a GM design almost. Maybe I'm being kinda harsh there, but I just think its plain and kinda old fashioned styling I guess. |

Originally posted by 94UhkorGuy I will agree on Altimas part. But are you refering to the 6th gen or 7th gen Accord? I couldnt agree with you on the 6th gen Accord interior. I cant comment on the new accord interior, because i, nor you have been in it. I agree it looks nice, but not any nicer than the pic i posted of the new camry. Sean I can get a feeling for it from the pics. I'm also talking design too, I think thats the main area the Accord wins in. The way things flow and look together. |
I think the Camry's interior's major flaw is the design of the center console. I'm sure the materials are good and I can't explain my dislike for it other than saying it doesn't look as sleek, therefore in my eyes it doesn't look as upscale. The gauges are very domestic looking to me. Almost an old Oldsmobile look really. Then the center console is essentially in a "pod" design much like my Civic. It's just not as sleek as the 2003 Accords, or the Nissan Altima's interior. I'd still rank it second behind the Accord and ahead of the Altima based on look, design and fit and finish.

The Camry's layout was made for OLDER CUSTOMERS and looks like a BUICK. Because of the lack of a vertical stack in the new Camry, the flow of the dash flows horizontally. With the placement of stereo up high and the center vents sitting next each side and the climate control unit below plus a full horizontal belt that runs all the way across, the theme is mimicing a BUICK. The dash is like a BIG HORIZONTAL BAR. http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...res/122464.jpg http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...res/122358.jpg http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...res/122411.jpg And to prove my point about the Camry being the Buick class of the Japanese midsize, the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis has a similar layout too: http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...res/218419.jpg |
Kazi...nice work with the pics.

Ok, i do not want to continue with this. I do not agree with you, and you are not going to convince me. I do not want to convince you of anything, this has gone on too long, and quite frankly, im sick and tired of you. Yes they may look similar, the materials etc are all inferior in quality as well as everything else. Most cars are designed simialr, gauges on the left, radio in center, hvac vents across. So yes, they should look similar. If you have time to go browsing the web for pics of different buick etc... interiors, good or you, but i do not. So, thanks for your views of things, and have a great day! Oh, and just to get the facts straight, according to Demographics, the average age of an Accord owner(viewed as aimed towards younger buyers according to you) is 55(senior)no not in high school, and the average age of a Camry owner is 53. So as for your comment on the Camry's layout as being made for OLDER CUSTOMERS, those older customers are buying the accord, and younger buyers are buying the Camry. Oh, and once again, have a GREAT day!!!

First let me say that I like the exterior of the Camry a lot. The interior though does look too much like an american car...I am sorry you cannot see the resemblances. AS for younger people buying accords vs camrys there are more younger people in accords, modding them, etc, than i see camrys. How big is the aftermarket for camry's...hrmmm wonder why? And you sir...Have a nice day:wavey: |
