Most of those choices are so asinine it isn't even funny. The 35k sedan is probably the worst...no mention of the G35 or TL. Jesus Christ. Absolutely unbelievable. This list was so obviously compiled by females it isn't even funny...could there possibly be any more Benzes and BMWs? Edmunds.Com now officially sucks.

their definition of coupe is anything with two passenger doors, isn't it? and their definition of sedan is four passenger doors..

I'd take all those vehicles except that Nissan Titan and Mazda 3.:barf:

Like you said 98Coupe, where is the mention of the G35s and TLs? They should be on that list. I don't know how this list was compiled.

Also, is it necessary to use the Lord's name like that?

No, but if you don't care to see it you can feel free to locate this button in the top right hand corner of your window:

And yes mayo, congratulations. I left out wagons and SUVs because I really didn't care enough to post them.

I'd drive any of those (except the Passat is getting a little long in the tooth... if only Honda would have given the Accord a great exterior design then it would be up there).

And does anyone else think the 3-er is a little overrated? I've never driven one so I can't say much, but as stated, with the new TL and G35 you'd think the propeller could only do so much.

There's something about the 3-series that does it for lots of people. Sure it ain't as roomy or powerful or cheap as the G35 but that's not really what this list is about. And bah for the TL. Why would Edmunds which is run mainly by admitted quasi-enthusiasts pick a big fwd car whose most-hyped selling point is its stereo?

The only pick I'm a little conflicted with is the Golf. Definitely should have gone with the RSX over the Golf though, especially since the only 2-door Golf aside from the R32 is the GL. I'm sure they meant the GTI anyway.

i drove my uncle's 318, and it's pretty nice, like quality wise and everything. it wasn't that fast though. it had some cool bells and whistles, but i don't think i'd buy one - for myself anyway. probably a good wife's car (if i had one of those)...

i also sat in an m3 at the car show, and didn't really see anything all that special about it. i guess you have to drive one

The 318 is garbage. You gotta drive the 325i, or the 330i to get the full experience.

When BMW says its The Ultimate Driving Machine, they arent lying

I'd just like to say that I agree with most of Edmunds choices.

As for the 3 series, I would take the new TL over the 330i any day of the week. The BMW has better at the limits handling and steering feel, but the TL has it beat in nearly every other respect IMHO. A 330i when optioned out similar to the TL is $42k for non-Nav and $44k w/ Nav. :screwy:

Just think what could be done to a TL for $8k....possible M3 rival? Maybe not, but it's fun to dream.
