I was going to get the apexi pretty soon...I have heard the fields was sometimes prone to detonation. You can always get it and read as much as possible before you install it. Hell, you were smart enough to buy an integra...you can always learn to program this unit!!

I'd like to correct some misinfo in this thread.

Turning your VTEC engagement down does not give you more power. In fact, most modded cars benefit from a RAISED VTEC engagement point.

Quite simply, your VTEC lobes are designed to work at a certain RPM and above.

Yes i recently just learned that. I had my vtec controller set to engage at 3800-3900 trying not to go much below 4000 where it is said to not go lower than. But was told and somewhat discovered on my own that i wasn't producing power down there. So i've now turned the engagement point up to 4400-4500 and i can't say for sure that i feel a whole lot of a diff. but i'm sure its a gain that i can't really feel a whole lot. Who knows.

Ok, then if it is not beneficial to turn down the vtec engagement point, then what is the point of doing it in the first place?

Also, anyone who has the apexi vafc, can you fill us in on what you had to do to correctly tune and run the unit? What is involved? It needs to be dynoed and tuned through the runs, correct?

I just dont live anywhere close to a dyno shop that can run and tune the unit properly.
