That sets off warning bells in my head... know why? With paypal, they have a quality assurance fee... for you it's be like 20~40 bucks, and basically it states that PayPal will get your money back if the item you recieve is not identical to what you're sold... could be good in this situation...

sounds to me your new to Ebay. If at any time it sounds too good to be true it's most likely too good to be true. Don't ever do deals over any time of method payment except paypal. Besides money gram is just like western union. Once you send payments, there is no guarantee that your money wil be protected.

Just my .02 cents

well this is what he said...

"What I can do is to get our transaction under protection
of eBay, so you can feel secure about it. Regardless the
way you pay me, you will be insured for the entire value
of the purchase. In case you don't get what you are paying
for, you get a full refund.

I will be happy to ask them verify it and confirm to both of us.
I have deposited $10,000 as purchase protection for my customers.

They will give us a transaction number. Please keep it safe.
If anything goes wrong, you send them the payment proof and
the transaction number in order to get your money back. At
that time, they will ask me for to prove that you received the
item(s) and signed for it. If I cannot provide them this,
your payment will be refunded.

This verification will cost me $25.

I need your full name and shipping address. I will forward
your details to eBay. They have to know who is insured"

i guess ill just have to open everything infront of the UPS guy to make sure that I have it all before I sign for it

and he said that paypal gives sellers a hard time and i should look at www.paypalsucks.com and check out their forums. i just think that if ebay is "securing the transaction" then he has to send me what he's is telling me...right

I dont know Kfar, even for the extra insurance (25 bucks), it still seems too good....but hey if its legitimate in the end, you can come back here and tell us all about how you got a good deal.

WARNING!! a guy tried to scam me off eBay with the SAME EXACT STORY!!! The story was there was a set of 17" Velox VX-8 w/ tires on ebay w/ NR etc... but I could only bid on it if I emailed him first and got "approval"

He then closes the auction and offers to sell'em to me for $600 shipped through the same exact thing you said. I say "no, i'll pay $500 shipped" haha and he says OK! I'm like... whoa!

I get suspecious eventually and i ask for a signed newspaper w/ the wheels and he disappears. Eventually he sends me back a one-liner w/ "I dont have a camera around here".

He also had a site on his sig, its now down. Beware!
