thats what I thought but many items say "K&N type" that are infact the right pink color. When I get it and its not genuine, I wonder if I can get my $ back?
right there your screwed. They said "type" not just K&N. Type and like both mean it is not the product but something similar or what they deem similar to it.

if you wanna get a permanent intake for cheap then make your self a icebox with pvc piping in place of the resonator and lead it to cold air.

for me, I have to customize some stuff for that "icebox" idea because the stock gsr box doesn't fit on the civic body.

well someone messed around with that diy icebox until they got the finished product so i would figure you could figure something out too. if not then you can use a heat shielded filter on the end of the rubber hose and a heater vent hose from home depot and direct it to cold air and tape to seal the place where the heater hose connects to the filter. there are too many cheaper ways to get cold air to your motor to buy any kind of aft market pieces along that line. do you really want to spend 200 dollars for maby 3hp at the crank. you dont net much from cai or sri until you get into the situation in which you need one.
