Default I am new, need help, please!!

I just bought a used 93 Acura Integra LS special 2D with 119000 miles on it. I am newbie, and need help for several questions:

1: When I turn off the car. There is a strange sound from the back like a train Wo-W0-W0-W0-W0. It lasts three seconds. But if I turn the radio off, this won't happen. And later I found out that even the car is started, when I turn on/off the radio, this sound comes again. Anyone know what's the reason?

2. What's the use of S3/S4 shift? When to use it? The seller don't have the owner's manual, so I know nothing about it. Where can I find the manual? (It's great if I can download it for free. Poor student )

3. When the car pass bumps, it feels so hard, sound is loud... is that normal?

4. What kind of gas I should use for this baby? Need to add anything to it?

5. When I take the car to Wal-mart for oil change. They recommend to change the air filter. Should I buy one online or just ask them to change? (Which one is cheaper? And about how much for it?)

Thanks very much!!

It sort of like a kick in the pants. Just a little faster. But I wouldnt use it very much cause it eats through gas like woah.

3a. My 93 civic ex is very similar. Older honda's dont have great suspension...luxury isnt that big of a deal when making hondas in the first place..its an economy car.

4a. 87 octane or better, no hondas that i know of need ANY higher! No need to use higher, its a waste unless ur racng..and ur not with that car..yet!

5a. DONT take it to wal-mart! LOL...j/k..they might do a good job...i just wouldnt take it there..i change my own oil. But the answer...most shops will want you to change air filter. Ask them to show you ur current air filter and see if its brownish and dirty..if it is..change it. But after that you shouldnt have to change ur air filter for another good year. You can easily check your own air filter with a socket wrench set...easy as pie! While its off you can pop a new one in..NO labor charge from wal-mart then for installing it!

I couldnt answer 1 and 2..i dont own an integra so i dont know.

Hope that helps!

1: Do you have an aftermarket sound system?

2: I think that's just the overdive mechanism...

Your car probably wouldn't need more than 87, but it's complete BS to say that no Honda needs higher than 87 octane. GS-Rs are the lowest Honda that needs 91 or better (And you can fudge with 89, but I don't do that...), but there's also the ITR and the S2000, who both have such high compression ratios that using 87 Octane gas is most definately not a smart thing...

One of the reasons the DC5 ITR wont be coming here is the lack of commonly available 94 grade gas, amongst marketing limitations with the Acura name and limited market for such an NA car...

So blanket statements about 87 Octane are not the smartest things to make...

Only Sunoco has 94 around here and my GSR needs atleast 91 but gets 93 or 94 all the time.

in the OEM owners's manuals on the gs-r's and the s2000's does it SAY that you need 91 octane? Or are u just saying that its better to have it? I'm curious!

It says you need 91+

On the tachometer it says "Premium Unleaded Fuel Only"

This is for a GSR...I am certain the ITR and S2000 are the same...actually I know the ITR is.

edit: I just found that the s2000 needs premium unleaded.

So i take that back...the s2000 i think is the only "honda" car in the us that needs premium. The pilot might need more than 87, but it doesnt say on Honda's site under spec's for the pilot.

Still let me know on the gs-r, but that is an Acura. I'm sure more acura's need premium than regular unleaded, its the honda luxury line in USDM.

See post above for GSR info...

Acura is still a Honda outside the US and Canada
