Rolling back mileage + *pics*
This topic got deleted in the Team-Integra forum. I feel it is a logical question. I KNOW THIS IS ILLEGAL! but then again so are most of our exhausts, HID lighting and a lot of other performance stuff on our cars. T.I. even sponsored LiteSwap's illegal HID lighting kits..lol. I can't believe they had to nerve to delete this thread.
Anyways, on to my question...Has anyone rolled back their mileage on their odometer? I've talked to a few people who have said they done it and it is a delicate procedure and can f*ck it up. I bought my car w/ 80k miles on it and now it has 128k miles. I recently put a new engine in w/ only 50k miles on it. Before I sell it I wanna roll back the odometer to a decent mileage for my year teg (95'). In FL we don't have inspections so they don't keep track of miles on the car, so the last time my car was registered it had 80k on it. Please don't respond unless you know how to/or have done it. I don't need a lecture about what is illegal/fraud. By the way I'm new to this forum...here is a few pics of my car.

Boy am I glad that I am NOT interested in your car! Wanting to "roll back" your mileage and sell it to some poor hapless "sucker" IMHO deserves a good flamin! There is a big difference between someone knowingly making HIS car illegal and someone else DELIBERATELY trying to commit fraud by selling their car to someone else (and that person thinking they are getting a car w/80K miles on it when it actually has a lot more). :madfawk: It was deleted in the team integra forum for a reason! It is just plain IMMORAL! If I were the guy who bought your car thinking it had 80K miles on it and found out that it had much more because the seller tampered with the odo, I would either take your sorry a$$ to court or come back with some buds and take it out of your hide!
Any Moderators out there......take this STUPID thread of the site and give this guy the boot!
Scott.

You are not modding your car in an illegal way you are in the act of committing fraud! HID headlights and loud exhausts may get you a fix it ticket but fraud will land you in jail!
See the difference!!
Mods lock or delete this crap!

You obvisiously did not read that I put a new engine in it WITH ONLY 50K MILES. So rolling back the odometer will not be untruthful, and like I said don't respond with a lecture about what is right/wrong. Moral or Immoral.

What about the chassis, suspension, electrical, body & drivetrain??? Have they ALL been replaced as well as the engine? If not, you WILL be committing fraud and if you DON'T know the difference then I guess the police will fill you in on it later! :fawk:
Scott.
P.S. Don't put STUPID things like this on the site if you DON'T want to get a lecture or flamed in the process!

Why don't you jsut save yourself a lot of trouble and say the body has 128k on it but the engine was swapped out and only has 50k miles on it and provide documentation? Other things in a car wear out besides the engine.

Thanks for the PM's!!, Please DVPGSR...more people and car lots do it more then you think. If you don't know then your oblivious to the facts. If you don't know anything about it, then don't respond.

Find a gauge cluster with the milage around about what you want from a junkyard, and yes I do agree with the others.
Why not be honest. Take pictures of the odometer during the swap (i know this is after the fact) and hopefully you've got papers with the motor.
Let the buyer of your car know the difference, the body has 128k but the motor is semi-new and only has 50k.
If you do go with a gauge cluster, your car better be spankin'...
A 95LS with 50k? Too good to be true.
