You cant even tell I ever took the thing apart.

You at least want a fuse, remote power wire, and a decent ground, but if you're happy with your improper setup, its all good.
I say, to the very least, change that wiring setup when you get your sub and another amp.

Its dont perfect. I've done a million installs before. This was no different other than the power wire to the batt. The deck doesnt get power through the circuit board (powered by the ignition) but instead direct from the battery. Which means its still a perfect install, but its fully powered directly off the battery. There are no relays to interupt it. And I ran the power wire off the battery through the gromet (drilled a hole in it) and sealed it so no hot air can leak in. I need to get some pics taken. Its pretty well done. Sadly when I'm gonna have to go back in there again to install the amp. And when I do that I'm going to mount the gauges in a custom pod where the tray used to go. That'll be fun.

Makes sense. Where's this "circuit board" you speak of? I'm gonna keep my install the same, but i just wanna know out of curiosity.

It should be installed kinda like an amp.
There is a power wire going to the battery. And a wire that goes to the ignition to switch on the radio. Like an amp, the remote wire gets a small signal from the radio to turn the amp on but it actually draws power direct from the battery.
If it was installed correctly, it should only be functional when the ignition is in the "on" position.
