Default hard to shift

For the past month or so now my shifter has been getting harder and harder to shift into gears. It started out not so bad and it was just a slight bothersome when trying to shift hard. But as the days went on it has been getting harder and harder to shift. A couple of days ago I was getting onto the highway and shifting into fifth gear and it started grinding whenever I would go into fifth gear when trying to shift fast. Now I can't even go fast in my car because when ever I do I try to shift fast and it won't go into gear. So I have to pull on it untill finally it goes into gear and by then I am already slowed down. I really am tired of this and I'm tired of not being able to go fast and shift fast with my car. Its not even just when I am shifting fast. When I am just driving normal it will do it too now. I was hoping to go to the local dragstrip this friday which is about 2 days away now, but because of this problem I don't think I am going to waste my time. On occasion if I try shifting to hard it will just grind and go into gear, but I know thats not good for it so I'm not going to do it.

Does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong here? My brother has a 94 Integra gsr, and right when his clutch was going out his shifter did the same thing. You would have to pull as hard as you could to get it in gear. It did that untill he got in his new clutch and ever since then his shifts smooth as can be. Could this be my problem? I know my clutch is on its last leg and that there is not much left of it. I really hope this isn't a tranny problem. Any help would be appreciated and sorry for this being so long.

Im having a similar problem. Sometimes even when i pull it out of gear the clutch keeps it in gear and i have to give it gas to let it out of gear. That usually happens in third but my car is really ****ed. I hope its not a tranny problem but im relaly getting scared. I hope your problem clears up bro.
Good luck,

Ben

I was thinking syncros but really there is no grinding when shifting gears. Only fifth gear grinds a decent amount and, I could see that gear having a bad syncro. But the rest of the gears are just so so so hard to get in gear but, won't grind unless I just jam it into gear which is what I have to do if I want to drive my car hard and shift fast. This just makes me upset because now I don't think I'm going to be able to run at the strip this friday.

Any other suggestions would be great. Hopefully this is just a clutch problem.

i'm still going to say clutch, as it's not often all the synchros fail simultaneously.

It is not the syncros and, they would definetly not all go out all at once. I went up and looked behind the clutch pedal at the clutch cylinder and it is "oozing" fluid out behind that rubber boot. So I'm pretty sure that that is the problem. It wouldn't be putting enough pressure to disengage the clutch all the way cause the shifter to not be able to engage into gear. I'm pretty sure this is the problem if someone thinks other whise please tell me so. And if this is the problem how hard of an installation is it? Any help would be great thanks.
