Yeah, I think they are. There are restrictions concerning use ( it must be foggy), aiming ( like front fogs are) and wiring ( they can't be wired to come on with brakelights).

Stock 98+ are the best...
As for the rear foglight, I believe that is a European law that all cars must have them. They are legal in the US but cars are not mandated by law to have them. There has been such a demand for the rear foglights on the Mini Cooper they are now coming standard and current owners can buy a retrofit.

I should, but this spring I'm going to Australia for 10 days. I intend to call up every Honda dealer, shop, and junkyard until I find a purchasable pair in good condition. I figure it would be easier to find them while I'm in the same country... and not 4K+ miles away across an ocean

Yes, it is law overseas to have a rear foglight...think about going 100+ on the Autobahn on foggy night :doh: u wanna know whats ahead of you going slow...
