It's funny how people don't realize this. "Oh I have an alarm, they aren't getting my car." BS. I have had 2 hondas, a prelude and an integra, both with alarms. The lude had rims stolen, and the whole car stolen once. The integra was broken into last year at school and some stuff was stolen out of it. I know a guy who had a $250000 show car hot rod. He had a GPS tracker with his alarm, and it could all be controlled through a lap top or his cell phone. At the time the alarm is tripped, the alarm company is notified of it. He thought his car was unstealable, as well as many people did. Well, it got stolen. If they want it, they will take it. No alarm, no club, no autolock, and no other gimmick will prevent your car from being taken.

yup, My theory is, if you have an alarm that can be bought from a store, it can be bypassed and you will get jacked.

a guy in my old neighborhood builds insane little trucks. no hydraulics or anything like that. but he has a Chevy Xtreme, with a s/c'ed LT1 in it. the car before it was stolen, and he didn't want this one to get stolen. so he installed closed curcuit video surveilance(sp?) with night vision. then he somehow had a motion detector installed under the truck. well, when the motion detector was tripped, and alarm went off in his room, the car alarm went off, and a couple of spot lights lit up his car. last time i talked to him, it saved his truck twice. but it also helps that he is an electronics major.

the reason why the integra is NOT the #1 stolen car is because there isnt a lot of them. goto any used car site (like yahoo's) and look at how many accords there are for sale compared to integras. maybe percentage wise, integras are stolen more, but definately not quanity. heres the 2000 list for most stolen: http://www.insure.com/auto/thefts/thefts301.html from this page:

"Susan Jablonski, a spokesperson for CCC, says that there is a correlation between the number of a particular vehicle stolen and the number of those vehicles on the road. Not only are Camrys and Accords among the best selling cars in the U.S., but also she says this is the first year that an SUV — the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee — has cracked the top 20, thus reflecting the recent popularity of SUVs."

and this is from 2002:

-1991 Toyota Camry
2-1989 Toyota Camry
3-1990 Toyota Camry
4-2000 Honda Civic SI
5-1994 Chevrolet C1500 4x2
6-1995 Honda Accord EX
7-1994 Honda Accord LX
8-1994 Honda Accord EX
9-1988 Toyota Camry
10-1996 Honda Accord LX
11-1993 Chevrolet C1500 4x2
12-1997 Ford F150 4x2
13-1990 Honda Accord EX
14-1991 Honda Accord LX
15-1996 Honda Accord EX
16-1987 Toyota Camry
17-1997 Honda Accord LX

19-1991 Honda Accord EX
20-1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4
21-2000 Chevrolet C1500 4x2 Silverado

You are wrong. Integra is the most stolen car. It was on all of the tv stations' news broadcasts as well as CNN.

If you don't believe me, here is the link to the article on CNN's website.

to quote that site.... "A study shows Acura Integra is the most stolen new car model in the U.S."

"WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Acura Integra tops a new study listing the most stolen passenger vehicles for the model years 1999-2001, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute. "
