Header temps?
About how hot does the header on a GS-R get? Do you guys think high-temp engine paint will hold up on one? or does it get hotter then 1500*?
I just got a free DC Sports Ceramic 4-2-1 2-piece header....I'm thinking of painting it, just for fun...but I don't want it to look like complete crap after a while.

I wouldnt paint it. I have the same exact header you have and it does get pretty damn hot. One good thing about Ceramic though is it does not discolor like the steel ones. Just wipe it down with alchohol when your done to get any dirt or grease off it and it will keep its color for a long time

yeah...I figured it should be ok. The reason I wanted to paint it is because it had a little bit of surface rust, so I sanded that away and applied some Rustoleum Hi-Temp paint...good for up to 1200*F. Now I have a black DC Sports header. and all it cost me was what I paid for sandpaper and paint...$6.
