my a/c isnt cold..how can i diagnose the problem?

I have also had the same issue along with gauges going off the chart, engine getting too hot and problems with not starting. For me it was the bottom grounding strap attached to the trany. The only grounding wire to the block aside from the one attached to the valve cover (and that path is issolated from the block by gaskets). My mechanic failed to tighten it, now that it is tight, my A/C is back and other related problems are gone.

the old system r12? is expensive as anything to change into the new one...my a/c is out too, but i'm only driving it for another month before college so i'm not gonna fix it, it was like 90 bucks for the shop to charge it (that's if there are no leaks)

well i got my freon professionally sucked out/recharged and it didnt help, expect the compressor dosent turn on and off going crazy anymore. what should i check next?
