integra at high speeds?
hey ppl.. i was just wondering..
just how stable is a 95/ls integra at high speeds..?
high meaning 200-210kph(thats maxing out the car)
cuz i reach 200k once in a while
and i was thinking of doing some crazy speed runs on the highway.. like driving up north at 200kph steady for a good 15 min straight..
is that a good idea or VERY bad?
cuz i think the engine might start to overheat.. but i dont really care about that.
my main concern is how stable a integra is at those speeds..
cuz sure it feels good and all.. but does it get lift at the front or back at that speed which will create loss of traction?
b/c i know a lot of cars f-up at high high speeds...
oh and yes i know what im doing is bad and im endangering myself.. but if i ever do fast runs like that its at 3-4am where theres absolutely very little to no cars on the road(well in my area anyway)..
thanx
kk
edit - ohh and i have Yokohoma AVS ES100 tires and Motegi MR7 rims.. so my grip to the road is a lot better then stock rims and tires

Ive gotten my 2000' LS up to about 142Mph .. or 230Kph. Truthfully it was smooth all the way =) I wouldnt recommend keeping it at that speed for to long due to the fact I was sitting at about 6300 rpms in 5th.
Be carefull!! When I did it, I had a 3 man operation.. One ahead .. me a mile or so.. then one behind.. all on cell phones making sure there was no cops, deer, or traffic.

why would you not care if your engine overheats
simply cuz if i see it overheating i will slow down
and also like i said it has 170,000 clicks.. and a new engine would be nice.. preferably a Gs-R

With that much air on your radiator, engine overheating is the least of your worries.

its stable at those speeds provided you dont make any lane changes or have to brake for something suddenly or get a blow out or a flat.
It is not "fun" and not safe but I've done it as well so I know where your coming from. I don't suggest driving that fast for any amount of time because its way too fast for the car and way to fast your your typical driver. I don't even want to know what your braking distance is at 140mph lol....I just let off the gas and let the car slow itself down.
Otherwise at around 130mph the car starts to feel like its floating and at 140mph the front end is very light, its around 140 that you realize your going way to fast for your stock suspension and that you really hope nothing gets in your way on the road.
You can go that fast and not die btw, its the slowing down part from losing a tire and hitting some freeway wall that kills you
Engine will not overheat either, but your gas mileage sucks, and going that fast (140mph) isn't worth the 30 seconds you could save on going 120mph instead. Over 100mph unless you can keep a very high average speed its safer to just drive around 110-120mph.

Ive driven around 115 at night a lot. Keep in mind is 795 by my house, its not the straightest track in the world, but around 2 am, there are no cars, and no cops can catch you unless you fly up on them or they catch you from behind since there is a subway going inbetween. (thats the part toward the bottom right.
the part on the upper left, is straight as ****, about 3 miles of perfectly straight 2 lane road, but the 50 feet between each road (each direction) give a cop more than ample room to see you and to turn around and arrest so ass, so its a bigger risk there.
I usually go around 110 at night on the first part of 795 (from bottom right), but after getting my OEM lip put on, the car feels so much better on the road that now 125 feels the same. I can wait to get my suspension on.
