It just sounds like your clutch is grinding. Your old clutch could be going...has it ever been replaced? If not, thats a good solution. When my clutch went (a piece of the pressure plate broke), it would grind no matter what, usually in 1st, 3rd, and reverse. It was also impossible to get into gear.

I've just recently been noticing my shifter being very hard to shift into gears. Is it my clutch? What does anyone think?

I think that would depend on whether or not your car is a daily driver or not. Would you really want to be driving around all day on a racing clutch?? Plus if you do not have many mods done to your car (I don't know if you do or not) why would you need a full out racing clutch. I would go with just a street/strip clutch, or semi racing clutch.

You should feel how a racing clutch is before deciding on this route. It's awkward at first, and kinda annoying for daily use (especially stop-and-go and traffic jams). Save that and the money, especially since you didn't indicate that you're planing on doing anyting that requires such a clutch, and get the stock replacement.

I have a ACT street clutch disc with a stage 2 pressure plate (XTSS) and its 80% stiffer because I have a cable clutch (its only 20% stiffer for the hydros). It was hard to get used to and is still a pain for stop and go traffic. I usually put it in neutral every time I'm stopped. I'd go with a Street Set-up. Probably the best quality for the price set-up I can think of is the ACT HDSS. You can pick one up for about 500 retail, and cheaper with a groupbuy (groupbuycenter.com). You're also looking at around 400 for labor. Good luck
