Default Integra Antenna Replacement

I just bought a 1998 Integra LS and I have a question about the antenna. I know that it's not really THAT big of a deal, but its really annoying when the antenna retracts every time I put in a new cd or turn off the radio. Is there a replacement antenna that is smaller and will stay in place permanently? Does anyone know any good brands and their prices? Thanks!

if u just want it to stay permanently you can just disconncect the wires that tell it to go up and down.

but if you want a new antenna the s2000 antenna conversion is very popular for integras, you can buy the mast and then a conversion kit, i did it to my integra and i really like it, and it only cost me $36. the reception isn't as good as stock, but its ok

I just wired a switch to the head unit that when you press it turns on or off the antenna. So when you listen to cds it will be down, and when you want radio you press the button and it goes up. I mounted the switch in the center console on one of those pop out tabs, others put it in that little recess below the radio.

hmm good idea. i got a new sony explod deck so my antenna stays down when the cd is in or changing and comes up auto when radio is on so i dont need the manual switch like h0ckeyplayer suggested but i did put a manual switch on my other 95integraSE(r.i.p) i fit the switch on the bottom panel where they usually have a opening for cd storage. i did my switch install very clean so that it didnt move any(use an exacto knife to carve the fit). but yeh u should use a switch and put it somewhere nice like directly inderneath the deck itself so that its easier to access and rememebr
