Default Resetting ECU ????

Ok I was bored as hell at work and I started do some searchs for some easy mods. Well the concensus at several different sites was that resetting the ecu after adding mild mods like intake, exhaust, etc would reset the computer so that it adjusts for the mods or atleast adjusts engine management or optimal performance and gas mileage. There werre two different ways described... one involving removing a fuse from the under the dash or disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few seconds... what gives, anybody got some insight on this...?

You can just reset your ecu by unhooking the negative terminal on your battery and then hooking it back on and then start your car back up and let it sit for about 7-10 minutes with out touching the throttle so the computer can re-adjust. I did this a while back and I didn't really notice any change in how my car felt.

But I'm sure it never hurts to try?? Try it and see if you get better gas mileage. I've heard of some people getting better gas mileage after doing this? Who knows, it can't hurt ya though.
