My daughter's 2001 Integra has the check engine light on. A local shop reset it but couldn't pull the code to see what the problem was. I'm totally new to Acuras, so please bear with me. I've been told it is a common occurance and can mean any one of a number of things. If anyone can direct me to a site that shows how to pull the code I'd be grateful, or for any other helpful info on this topic.

this may be a dumb question, and i hope i'm not insulting your intelligence, but could it have been the maintenance required light, and not the check engine light? i've noticed people confuse the two on a few occasions.

Its a little yellow light in the left side of the instrument pod that says "CEL". I've been told (and the manual reinforces this) that it is a check engine light. Where is the "maintenance required" light?

 

the maint req'd light is below and between the temperature gauge and tachometer. but i just wanted to make sure.

has the CEL come back since the shop reset it?

 

Yep, it took less than an hour's driving for it to come back on.

I had Autozone pull the code on my 2001 Integra and it came up P1457, which they said is a dealer code they cannot read.

What is up?
