thanx guys. Ya, this morning, my back and neck are a little sore but nothing is wrong with me. I'm still really worried about it being totalled. According to www.kbb.com, my car is worth $2900, and the autobody said that the insurance companies wil pay up to 85% of the cars worth to repair it, anything over that->it's totalled. So up to about $2400 of damage before it's totalled. Does it sound like a new bumper, fender, door panel, and quarter panel and painted sounds like $2400?? Oh and one of the right front suspension arms was snapped in half and the shock and spring were messed up + front corner of the frame is bent in a little. How much do u guys think??? Thanx
I was rear ended back in January. It costed the insurance company over $3,000.00 for mine to be fixed. All that was replaced was the bumper, passenger side 1/4 panel, trunk floor needed some smoothing out. So my guess is its totaled.

If it's only worth $2900, and you have all the damage you specified AND a bent frame... it is absolutely totaled.

My best advice is to absolutely NAIL the fawker who hit you in terms of a settlement; SERIOUSLY consider a civil suit against him. Seek a lawyer, get your hands on the police report, get pics of the accident site; get your sh*t together, and then drag him into small claims court and give him unholy hell.

BTW, take out an "agreed value" policy on your next car.

I was lookin at trade-in. U might be right, I could prob get more cuz my low mileage but I might have to argue with them to get what I want. If they declare it totalled and I don't get enough; I was talkin to my mom and was thinking of maybe sueing him. He should be paying up for letting this happen in the first place, not just the value of my car, we'll see..

Damn right he should pay, blowing through a red light like that. I know going to court can be a pain, but you're in the right and the other bloke doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Glad to hear you survived this, and best of luck.

Dave.

guys, the insurance guy called today reporting 3600 in damage, including a kinda bent unibody and he reported that my car was worth around 3000. So it looks like I'm 3000 out. All I know is that I want to cry, and that I want to kill the man that ran that red light and hit me. If he only knew how much time money and effort I put into that car.
