Default how dark?

im thinking of tinting my windows but not sure how dark to get it. here are a few options i have. this is on my 2 door.
1. 20% all around
2. 20% on the rear hatch and the smaller windows on each side. then 35% on the driver and passenger side window.
3. 20% on the rear hatch and 35% on the sides
4. a nice even coat of 35% all around

think there would be too much contrast w/ #2and3? also, on the dot matrix, does that come off often? the guy doing it for me specializes in j/ tinting windows and has a lifetime guarantee. all info is helpful

oh and this is on milano red if you didnt' see in my sig

I personally think that really dark tint looks cheap. 35 percent should look pretty good all around.

Dear kaor09,
I have limosine, very dark on my Integra hatchback. The rear and the rear 1/4 windows are the same. The A/C works great. In California the front side windows cannot be tinted.
Good luck

I have 35% all around on my silver tef. I think it looks nice. And thats the legal tint in MD, so i didnt want to have to rip any of it off if i got pulled over. Its up to you.

30-40 looks nice IMO. i think too dark of tints make the car look tacky.

I have 35 all the way around and I think it looks great. IMO anything darker really makes it hard to see at night, which is no good and could cause you problems with the cops depending on the local laws.

20% rear 35% front on my Corolla... clear as day on my Civic, except the windshield has built-in tint on the top...

Good question. I would say that 30-35% looks great. I agree that the really dark tints look cheap. I would say to try to keep it legal with like a 35% tint (at least in my state that is legal). I need to get my windows retinted. My driver's side window as a bad scuff mark on it, so I'll have to replace that whole window. Also, I'll have to remove the tint from all the other windows. Anyone know how much a 92 GSR driver's side window is gonna cost me???
