i have 5% on the sides and 15% on the hatch, soon my front windsheild will be tinted like 35-50%, yea i know you cant tint the windsheild legally, but here in florida cops have limo tint and dont really care how dark your windows are, and on my last car i tinted the windshield, it really cuts out the heat, and the a/c is icy cold, i got dark windows cause i hate when people just stare at ya and can see who you are and wut you look like, plus i like to feel secure.

 

thanks for all the opinions. here in ohio its 50% so whatever i get is gonna be illegal. i def dont want to look tacky so i might just got w/ 35% all around. keep the comments coming if you have some more input though

 

50% what a crock, i like it the darker the better but my car is a cop magnet anyway so i'm running 35% as well. i dont know why but in pictures it looks dark but inside and looking in in person it's still pretty visible, yuk, i also like to feel secure and dont like alot of clocking. on a red teg it'll probably be a little darker than on white, and about the dot matrix i assume on the hatch. mine didn't stick to well, and even with lifetime warr. they couldn't get it right, i put a sunstrip on the rear as well and it covers it up, i.e. cops dont like it either !!!

Well I had 20 on the 3 rear windows, and 35 on the two front windows, and it was ok, but at times I didnt think it looked that good. The good thing about it is that 35 is so light compared to 20, that the cops usually dont say anything about have 35 on your front side windows. I would say go for 35 all around, just to steer clear of trouble. That what I'm going to do on my new teg. My car is also black, so 20 all around would just be too dark. But yeah, go for 35 all around.

Actually its 55% now I believe. But when it was 35%, people had lower, like 20% or so and the Cops let it slide. Now that its 55% legally, everyone puts on 35%. Its kind of like the speed limit. No one goes the speed limit, and when tinting, no one goes lower than 35%. :thumbup:

 

i just moved from ohio, and it waz 35percent legal, but that waz two years ago, i dont know if they changed it, but in may ima be drivin the teg up their and the cops are gonna love my five percent tint, but i have florida license plate so they prolly wont do anything.

I got 15% all around and I really like it. ive had it for about 3 years and ive been lucky and haven't been pulled over once about my tint and I live in Cali too, which is really strict on this crap. when ever you see cops at night or day I always roll down my windows if i know they'll see me when i stop at the light.

 

I got pulled over for no front tag one afternoon and the cops were busy checking out my tint as well. It was a total shake-down. I'm not one of those people who hates police officers, but they stopped me with two cars and three officers and made comments that basically said they were looking for "cars like [mine]", asking about my friends, etc. Not that much of this is relevant, but the traffic stop was enough of a hassle that I wouldn't want a fix-it ticket. So I'd keep it legal just to avoid conflict.
