Who's running coilovers ?
I'm going to buy coilovers this weekend but the problem is I only have around 250 to spend on them right now. I wanted to know if any of you guys were running any of the relativiely cheap coilovers (dropzone, intrax, etc.) and how you liked them ? Also, whats a good place to buy coilovers online ?

hey, turbo evoloution on groupbuycenter.com has the special edition ground control coilovers for 278 shipped. might wanna look into that. i just got mine from them but havent had time to install them yet, so ask other people. GC's are suposed to be best coilover sleeves (not full coilover over with shock and coilover as one unit) you can buy.

i got my skunk2's for $300 at my local shop. don't skimp out on some cheaper ones, save for a couple more days and get the ground controls or skunk2's for $300.
the skunk2's are really stiff, so you may want to go with the ground controls and order a lower custom spring rate. and i think main difference between the two is that the skunk2's use dual locking perches to secure the spring height while the ground controls use a single perch.
hope this helps, good luck.

I got a set of the ol skool skunkworks back when they first came out for 275... Then I waited til I could afford a set of new shocks then just installed them simultaneously.

I have Tanabe's SS-R full coilover set but that's out of the price range your looking for. But if your going for just the coilover and spring then i would go with Skunk2's coilover.

I have "Maxspeed" off ebay , 140 shipped. They are great coilovers honestly. My friend has skunk2's and he'll admit my ride is better than his...
Just some info, chase

^ what about securing the sleeve to the shock body? The idea seems a little sketchy to me, but then again, I'm pretty pessimistic in general.

I got RS coilovers for 80$ brand new, they ride perfectly fine...all these fool's paying 300 or so for a suspension are paying for a namebrand, cut the bumpstop about halfway up if you plan on droppin it 4'' also don't forget that camberkit and get it aligned after installation...also if you wanna go even lower than 4'', I cut 1 coil off of the spring for a 5'' drop
