my free 95 GSR, fixing issues..
I got the car for free. 95 GS-R Vtec 129K miles.
well, I'm gonna do some service labor and swap an engine for payment, but I've got the Integra already.
I just put a new battery in, and I'm getting a CV-axle it needs.
They said it didn't pass emissions, and I see stuff in the coolant like maybe an engine-fix product. I'm going to flush the coolant and run the car on 100% water, see how coolant looks or if it burns any. Maybe bad headgasket.
The service engine light is on. I tried to check the codes at autozone, but we couldn't find a connector anywhere under the dash etc.
ODBI? How do I need to check the codes, where to connect terminals and will it be flashing service engine light to translate to the code #? List of code #'s if that's the case?
The ride isn't amazing on those springs, but its also on 14" steel wheels right now (rims stolen) so I want to upgrade that.
I'll end up doing body work/ fix dents/ and paint it.

there should be a rubber green plug on the passenger footwell on the right side. inside the green plug should be a brown plug with 2 holes. use a paper clip to jump it, and thats how u get the CEL to flash.
i wouldnt recommend running straight water. high mileage motors are very sensitive to water corrosion, especially if exposed to straight water for extended periods

ok.
I wasn't going to for extended periods, just a short time. I can add a small amount of coolant to my water,
most important though is just flushing completely whats in there now.
I got a list of the codes, we'll see..

found this link that might help for the CEL. . . I have a 96 and my plug sits under passenger side of dash, so lucky me I ended up OBD II rather than OBD I

as for the ride, are the springs adjustable? ? ? if so, just raise it up like an inch, worked wonders for me. . .

oh oh oooohhhh
maybe I had no check-engine light, just a service engine light.
Does this light automatically reset when you change the oil?
Not adjustable, fixed drop springs.
The car's definitely been wrecked before, still waiting to see if it has a salvage title. I see some tweaked metal by the passenger's door hinges, almost looks like someone tried to weld the lower hitch to the car's main body..

no it doesn't, there is a little button under the right side of your dash under your steering wheel. If you stick your hand under and rub, you will feel it. it is a little square. . . you just push it in and hold it for 5 seconds and the light will go off. . . it is on some type of timer and will start to blink the next time the car is in need of service according to how the timer works. . .

put ur right hand on ur right shin palm down.
flip ur right hand so its facing palm up.
now with palm up, move ur hand upward until it touches the dash.
its there underneath that panel.
