stop all build up plans.
swap out for a gsr 5 speed before you do anything else. i know everyone has told you that already.
its like when i had an LS and everyone was like "dont waste your time, start off with a vtec powerplant" etc etc.
if you're talking about going turbo w your auto trans and all that...you'll be just as fast, or slower than an NA LS w GSR or B16 5 speed.

Okay. . . I do get that a lot, but I don't want a 5 speed(i have seen a GSR in automatic). . . I like my automatic, just want to beef it up a little to get some speed out of it as well. . . everybody says turbo is the way to go to get more power fast, so I'm looking into that although it seems to be the most expensive rout. . . My car is definitely more show than go(obviously because its an auto), but I have run down some 5 speeds in it. . . what would you suggest that I do then to give me more power and still be able to keep my auto. . .(main reason being I'm lazy and dont like to shift, but also planning a RHD conversion on it and don't want to relearn gears with my left hand( I heard its a bitch), keeping it auto would just work better. . . It does seem like i will have to go 5 speed to get what I want out of my car, but I'm pushing that to a last call, no other choice action. . . I will ultimately have to decide before the RHD conversion, but if I can find other options I will look into those first. . . .

put it this way.
Generally speaking:
an LS with LS 5 speed should be running high 15's/low 16s in the qtr mile
an LS with auto trans is high 16s or low 17s
an LS with GSR 5 speed is mid to low 15's
an LS with B16/ITR 5 speed is high 14s
an LS turbo w basic 6-7psi turbo kit and auto trans will probably run low 15s high 14s
your call.
the GSR auto trans is still limited to 4 gears and still is still geared longer than an LS 5 speed.
my old car, the one in my sig...the buyer took at to the qtr mile (i didnt get a chance to with the turbo)
LS b18b1 w Greddy turbo kit 200whp/200wtq GSR 5 speed
he ran a best of 14.001 or something but was trapping at 102-103mph
thats mid to low 13s if he hooked up better.
if u go NA or turbo or vtec or whatever, the ultimate factor is that auto trans.
seeing your tastes, i wouldnt even bother with upping the HP. not hating, but you'd just be spending hard earned cash for a lost cause. save it for your clean RHD conversion or paint job or both.

Point well taken, I guess i just needed to have it broken to me in a way I would better take it in. . .
5 Speed manual vs 4 speed automatic, never looked at it that way. . . so simple. . . now a no brainer. . .

Also thinking about goin K20, due to the auto/manual tranny. . . is the K20 swap okay in CA? ? ? I know plenty of people that do swaps and don't care, but i don't intend on having to pay for crooked smogs for as long as I have the car. . . I see the K20 engine goin for cheaper than the B18C is some places. . . Let me know as it would give me pretty much exactly what I am looking for as far as power and the Auto/Manual tranny would be a plus. . .

k20 swaps are not legal unless you swap over all the emissions equipment from the donor car. which is a pain in of itself. engine swaps in general arent legal unless you go through the proper channels and get it BAR'd. my old civic with a b18c1 had a BAR legal swap but i didnt ask the guy i bought it off of what exactly he had to do to get it.
like said before if i were you i wouldnt even touch the engine if you're planning a RHD conversion. oh and an lsd tranny has a limited slip differential in it. hence the higher price. you can search on what that is.

What about just the tranny, I know it wont hook up to my B-series, but is there a way to get the tiptronic shifter to work with my current tranny. . . I pretty much already manually shift threw the gears myself now and would love just to be able to hook the shifter up to my tranny. . . what combo of tranny would work with the rsx shifter or which acura could i take it out of and get it to work in my teggy? ? ? or am i just trying to do too much ? ? ?

nope not really anything you can do to mod your automatic trans thats plug and play. sorry man.
