11.1:1 Compression, what else do i need?
#12
JDM ITR pistons in a GSR motor will indeed yield around 11.4:1 without milling down the head. You said you're having the head shaved. That will easily bump your compression up a good bit.
Here's what I'd do, and it's a lot simpler/cheaper than all this nonsense you're proposing:

- Go ahead with this port/polish--but skip out on milling the head beyond what's needed to make a smooth surface.
- USDM B16 pistons (which can be had cheap from any Honda dealer)
- ITR outer valvesprings (pay a visit to the Acura dealer), Portflow inner valvesprings, Portflow titanium retainers
- skunk2 stage 2 cams
- adjustable cam gears
- some sort of chipped ECU that raises the redline and preferably doesn't disable the knock sensor

im building up my GSR soon, im looking at stage 2 Skunk cams, skunk2 tit retainers, skunk2 springs (whole set) and port and polish, im gonna leave the valves and the bottom end alone, until i move onto pistons later....MrFatBooty, if i take my head to a machine shop for a port and polish and spring and retainer install, how much about u think that would run me, (not for parts, but for install and polish) anyone can answer but it seemed MrFatBooty was the closest to stating what i was planning to do, thanx in advance

#1: Skunk2 valves come in a complete set only.
#2: Skunk2 valves are much better than JDM ITR valves. (Hype R!) All the ITR valves are is a little lighter. Skunk2s are flatbottom nitrided stainless steel.
For springs and retainers it doesn't really matter all that much whose you get, as long as they are stiff enough (Any aftermarket spring should do unless you are revving to the moon). Most of them are probably all the same rebadged Eibach spring anyway.
Remember, just because it is JDM, doesn't mean it is good.
