Default so I think I may have messed up my fuel line

I was trying to change my fuel filter today. I was able to easily take the top bolt and the bracket off but I was unable to remove the filter from the fuel line below it. I spent a good hour trying to get at it from different angles but no luck. I have a Helms manual and was following it exactly. It looks like the nut that's attached to the fuel line is a bit rounded off now, can't get a good grip on it. Plus after I decided to just quit it was a pain in the butt getting the fuel filter to mount back to the firewall. What can I do about it now? Is that line easily replaceable? Looks like i'm making a trip to the dealer to get my fuel filter replaced.

I had the same problem when changing my fuel filter, your supposed to use a flare wrench to take off the bottom bolt. I didn't have one so I gave up after awhile cuz i was afraid of messing up my fuel line. So as of now i still have my old fuel filter on.
