becuase 9005 bulbs are high beam bulbs, hence more light. Since the g3 tegs have projector lenses it focuses the light well as to not blind everyone, if you tried this is most any other car and you would be getting blinked at left and right.

9006 (51W) = 1000 lumens light output
9005 (60W) = 1700 lumens light output

you decide

they way to go is a soldering iron that has an exacto blade tip. i picked one of these up when i was in to r/c planes, and it took me literally 30 seconds to modify the 9007's.

I was with him when we did this mod for both our TEG's and there is no modification of the bulb itself. Just remove the white piece of plastic in the harness

sorry...last question, i swear.

I tried to take out that white plastic piece with my fingers but couldn't do it. Do you have to use pliers or something? I guess regular pliers wouldn't fit in that little space so like needle nose pliers? thanks a lot

i did the conversion on my friends teg today and we DID have to modify the one tab on the outside. i tried plugging in the bulb w/o any modification and it woudnt fit. i just had to melt a little of it away. ....just for further clarification to others who do this mod.
