Default Best summer tires? (Search didn't help)

I haven't been on this board in about 6 months and if I am not mistaken many of you were praising the Parada Spec 2's and Sumitomo HTR Z II's in the summer. I now come back and do a search and find nothing except a few mentions of them but some new talks about the Azenis (sp?) and Dunlop SP 9000's.

I will be buying 205/45/16's. This will be a daily driver as well. I want something that is excellent in dry and pretty good in the rain. I don't drive that fast in the rain but do take highway trips every once in a while so I would like to have decent traction in wet conditions.

My first thought is to go with the Azenis but heard the rain traction is horrible. I am also considering the Spec 2's but no mentions about them. What other tires do you guys recommend?

TIA

Summer tires + rain should never go in the same sentence . It seems you need all-weather "performance" tires. I've heard great things about the S03's.

They don't make the S0'3s in 205/45/16 so I can't get them. What about the Spec 2's?

There has to be than 3 people on here with opinions. I don't trust the opinions people give on tirerack simply b/c I already made that mistake last year by purchasing the Kumho's.

Skelly-Gsr has eagle F1's in a semi-low profile on his car. They are incredible. I have never heard them chirp around corners or ever slip.

why not? that's a pretty absurd thing to say. by that logic, only people in the desert should buy summer tires.

there are plenty of summer tires that perform well enough in the rain. azenis aren't one of them. dunlop sp sport 8000 or 9000 do, yokohama avs es100 do. just do some research.

i was thinking about getting azenis...$69 for 205-50-15. seems like a great deal for a great dry tire. but i was wondering just how bad it is in the rain. i have falken ziex tires right now, just for comparo.

what other "budget" tires would you guys recommend?

Kuhmo Exsta 712's are great summer tires and perform very well in the rain.

I have liked the SO3s and Dunlop 9000s. I currently have the ES100s and they are just a little below the other two in my opinion.

Has anyone tried the Kumho MXs yet?
