Default GSR hesistates before engaging

When I am in first gear and i try to start off accellerating the car hesistates before moving. It seems like its about to cut off but then it starts going. Does anybody know what could be the problem?

this is what i've noticed on mine. It's a 98 gsr.

You have to give it gas to rev up to ~1000-1100rpms as you let out the clutch. For some reason, it's hard to keep the revs constant b/c as you let the clutch out, the rpms drop, but at the same time, the point in which the clutch engages is when the your feet is just about to come off the pedal. So there is a point where the rpms take a dive before going.

You just have to give it an increase in gas as you let the clutch out.

I've yet to master it.

If this isn't what you're talking about, then sorry b/c i don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, If you give it very little throttle, It will hesitate or even bog a little bit. Rev it up a little bit but not too much

My 90 ls has done that before but only a couple times and not in 6 months. I used to press the gas and engage the clutch at a stop sign going onto a road and after the clutch engaged it was like "bogging" if you will, for almost a second, and then all of a sudden it reacted. Never did it again tho, I think it was cuz it needed an oil change and new air filter, the filter was covered in grease and dirt, I don't even know how air got through.

Did this happen all of a sudden or has your car been doing this for awhile? I started bogging down in 1st more often after I installed my icebox/header. You just need to give more gas and/or release the clutch more slowly.

This problem just started around a week ago. It never happened to me before. I been driving the same, and I noticed that it does hesistate before it engages in first gear. And recently its been doing it more often. I got around 28,000 miles.

Funny, because I notice the same thing w/ my 94 LS engine. I thought it might need fuel injection cleaing or I needed to double check the timing. :dunno:
