Default Best tires.

I have seen a lot of discussions on tires, but I have a rather specific question. What would be the best tire for a 16x7 wheel, that could be used for a daily driver and has the best lateral traction (handling)? I was thinking the Falken Azenis, but its pretty heavy, like 22 lbs., but is it a good tire still? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

after selling tires and rims for 3 years during school, i learned a simple rule: you get what you pay for.

of the cheaper tires i've had, i liked the Kumho Ecstas, Falken GRB, and Yokohama A520.

most auto-x'ing pple swear by Azenis as the best bang for the buck, but beware its summer only tires...and have moderate->poor traction on water, i currently have the Yoko AVS intermediates and are awesome tires, but after 5 months the front are down to 30% tread and rear are down to 50% tread i got them for x-mas!!! the tire wear is 160, so you might want to take that into consideration

Are the Proxes T1-S regarded as a good tire? They seem pretty nice, and are light wheight too.

I've heard many good things about the Bridgestone Potenza S0-3s, but I think they'll only fit Tegs with 17" rims...

I heard Paradas are good. Anyone have them? How are they? What do people say about them?

I had the Parada Spec-1s and hated them. Can't say about the Spec-2s though.....

Yokohama AVS Intermediates are definitely great tires. Stay away from the Kumho 712's if you want any type of stellar handling. I'd go for the Azenis, personally.

Dad put Kumho Ecstas on his NSX (NSX shreds front tires every 6000 miles or so due to aggressive camber settings) he likes them, but he had a hard time getting them properly balanced on his rims.

I think I will go for the Toyos personally. As was said before... you get what you pay for.

Why drive around on $50.00 tires when you walk around in $200.00 Nikes?

Phil
