Default how to fix hatch support struts/pistons?

hey guys,

the hatch support pistons/pumps that support the rear hatch on my 98 Teg broke(leaking) and won't support the trunk anymore.

Anyone know if there is a quick fix to this, or a cheaper alternative than going OEM??

Thanks!

First place I'd check out would be NAPA. I don't think there's a 'quick fix'. Those are sealed units... they either work or don't work. Hope this helps.

Those should be gas-pressure struts. Not springs. Don't try to dismantle them or you might get hurt when they burst. They're not too bad at parts places ($20 each??).

no way to fix them as far as i know. i bought replacements from len on honda-tech. $88 shipped, dealers want more than $100. yea its a ripoff but i don't think there are any generic versions.

I got a pair special ordered at my local Autozone for $65. They're parts database only lists that they carry the supports for Integra 94-97, but you can still use them for the newer models. I have them on my 98 GS. It just requires a slightly different installation process.
