Default who has had there 90,000 mile service done?

I just spoke to a local shop about getting my 90,000 mile service done on my '95 GSR, they quoted me at $500 for the timing belt and about $300 for everything else. Does this sound about right?

Anyone who has already had there 90k service how much did you pay and what was done?

I know timing belts cost nowhere near that much money, so do you think that this is the price to do all the belts?

Im not scheduled to go in and have it done until monday the 24th so any advice you guys can give me would be great!

thanks.

i got my 90k done at the honda dealership b/c i get a discount. before my discount it was 1050 or so and i got around 200 off. just call them up to make sure instead of just hoping they are getting all the belts. and the $300 for "everything else", do you mean changing all the fluids? if so that sounds about right.

Screw that If you know how and are willing to do so, do it yourself like me and a lot of others.

i guess the price depends on where you go.. i got mine done at local gas station from my mechanic for $900. it was including timing belt, water pump, replacement of all seals, distributor cap, rotor, oil change, changing or adding all fluids(except ABS), and new radiator(there might be more things but i don't have the receipt). new radiator alone was more than $300.

Im not sure that i would have the time to do the timing belt myself and if i screw it up then i wont have a car. I thought about it and i know it would be much cheaper to do it myself, but i know nothing about it at this point and dont have time to learn

also
ive heard that timing belts can be tricky

on my last gs-r it costs me about $850 for everything. i have yet to do it on my 95 gs-r due to the fact that it only has 65k on it.

Let the shop do it. Timing belts are difficult and tricky for a 1st timer. It's a tedious task. The cam sprockets has to line up and the lobes gotta be in the right position. $500 is right. Most of that goes to labor.
