In my opinion and experience, Rota has wiped its ass with that quote

Good info Brian  The diameter of a lightweight 17"+ wheel also has to take those effects into account. Like you say, even with less sidewall, grip, comfort and the opportunity for less rotational mass is usually sacrificed.

go on a diet. That's a good weight reduction right there without doing anything to the car.

Personally I wouldn't perform these weight reduction on my teg because I like being able to drive people in my car, not hear tons of noise and have a spare tire if i ever get a flat.

Along those lines, I have a 2000 brochure for Integras and the Type R.

2639 lbs Type R
2672 lbs GS-R
2639 lbs GS
2643 lbs LS

If the Type R weighs the same as a GS then what about the Type R weighs so much that they had to take out sound deadening material to drop weight?

yeah I dunno, that's just what the brochures says. Also, according to it, the LS comes with the sliding moonroof too but not the spoiler, which is stock on GS and GS-R. Either way, I would think the leather would send the GS over the LS in weight.

dude, just do like one of the ricers did when I was at the races a few years back.

He took off his doors.

his exact words when I asked him bout it were
"dude, those doors are so heavy, now its way lighter, and feels like a driving my dad's jeep without any doors on, so im used to it..."

That kid is crazy! lol i could never imagine taking off my doors! Does anyone know any rough numbers as to taking off X amount of weight will take off X amount of time from your 1/4 mile? ive heard such varied responses for that. Does it really make all that much of a differnce?

Somewhere I heard this rough equation...100 lbs = 0.1 sec in the 1/4 mile

Don't know how valid it is though.
