sup guys..i had swapped in a b16a in my teg so now im running a turbo b16a..as opposed to my ls from before...its pretty quick on the highway but the lack of torque plus the lag is ridiculous..is there anything i can do to increase torque or to reduce lag?
thanx

Well, that's the trade-off you're going to have from turbo. What kind of turbo do you have?

A smaller, quicker spooling turbo will give better driveability on the street. You'll sacrifice some power up top, but I think it'd be worth it.

Yea, ball bearing turbos spool up faster. I'm not an expert though, where's Fatbooty when we need him?

Do you have the intercooler?

What exhaust do you have?

things like intercooler piping diameter, boost threshold, AR ratio will all make a difference for your lag.

Torque is pretty much not going to happen. Wouldnt longer intake runners increase torque in theory? I guess you could turn up the boost more.

For the lag a small shot could spool that turbo up quicker as well...

I'd just get a larger engine if thats an option. 1.6l turbo is tough.

I saw in another post of yours that you're only running 5 psi and the setup is basically untuned. This is what I would call "need to know" information.

Anyway, I would surmise that your low boost level and untuned status are the main culprit here. Once you get it tuned it should run much more smoothly.
