Car stereos ?? The best ????
Hey guys I know this is a bit off of the subject, but I am about to get a new head unit for my teg, and I wanted to know some of your guys opinions as far as radio brands are concerned. I basically want something that has lots and lots of treble ( I want ALL highs; i dont really car about bass). I've heard that Pioneer premier series is supposed to be pretty good, as well as some Kenwood models....Do you guys have any opinions ? What have you guys found to be very good , and clear (lots of treble) head units ???

depends on your budget.
pioneer, alpine, clarion, eclipes, nak....all make good HUs.
as for highs....add about 8 tweets in the front pillar. how can you enjoy music without having something from all the freqencies.

I do like hearing sound from all frequencies, but I just like highs the most....I hate these idiots that drive around with all this bass, and when you get inside there car, all you are is stuff rattling from the vibration.....I like a more high quality sound... So pioneer is a pretty good unit ?

There is not best, its all on your ears & budget.
As far as mids/highs go, Id go w/ focal, Even low end focal will blow alot of company's high end stuff out of the water.
As far as subs go, Ive always liked JL, The IDMAX's are tight too, Alpines R series seem to be pretty good too, Or if u want straight up bass, look into Digital Designs, My friend had 1 dd 9515 w/ 2 class d amps hitting close to 160 in a GTI.
As far as amps go, If u want clean bass, look into Mcintosh, they look straight outta midevil times but they are very clean, & again...for all out bass, Id look into class d amps(memphis, kicker makes nice ones,MMats), Fosgate amps are alright, but they always used to cut out on me when they got hot, Its all on u man...SQ or SPL.
As far as HU's go, Alpines got some nice ones, as does pioneer.
:fawk:, Have a nice day!!!!!

From what I hear Alpine has contracted out their manufacturing to another company I'm not sure but I think is Boss(??? not certain but don't quote me on it, it's some generic company). I don't follow stereo too much anymore, (wish I did). But just looking at the alpine headunits, their quality does look like it's gone down quite a bit. I just bought a Kenwood headunit looks pretty nice, functions great, but they could've done better with the button layout.
I'd have to go with kenwood right now. I really hope Alpine isn't contracted out.
But for speakers, only one choice, Dynaudio's

well i have a pioneer premier dehp-410.
the thing is 3 years old, dropped the face on a cement floor, one button came off when i did that but snapped right back in.
the thing runs as good as the day i bought it.
you can't go wrong w/ premier HU's, it's seen 4 or 5 stereos with 3 of them being SPL stereos. the bottom line? GET ONE u won't be sorry! get componets in the front end, & while your at it use 6 1/2" woofers in the front, more mid-bass up front. then at least you'll have a little mid-bass. the 6 1/2" woofer is the most accurate speaker, even better than 6 x 9's for clarity! beautiful sound is in the eye of the beholder.
but remember it's all fun & games till someone looses an ear.
hi's are worse for your ears than bass.
