smoke from oil cap
#4
In normal operation, there's going to be hot oil vapor trapped under the valve cover.
But if you smell oil burning, that could be a sign of worn valve guides.
If you're getting blue smoke out the tailpipe on startup, that's cause for concern.

Is there a lot of greasy soot on the inside of the exhaust?
Does it ever have trouble starting?

smoke is not that normal. your probably running low on oil or your pcv is not working and the pressure just builds up in your valve cover.
black smoke at tail is sign of rich mixture
blue smoke is a sign that your burning oil
white smoke is a sign of coolant being burned in your combustion chamber.

well white smoke when its cold (depending on how cold) can be normal, the black dots your seeing are probably carbon build up running out of the exhaust along with condensation. it probably wouldnt hurt to have a professional fuel injection cleaning done as well as as good throttle body cleaning. Other than that you may also consider and intake manifold gasket...tough call
