Default GS-R performance..............

I just wanted to post this comment and get your opinions on my thought. I've had a GS-R for about 1 week now, and I must say...it is a monster at high rpms, but frankly, I am dissapointed in its low end power. The G2 LS that I had definetely had more power up to about 3300 rpm.

Do you GS-R owners experience this lack of low end power also ? If so, what can be done to add more balls to the car from 0 to 3300 rpm ?

What can be done? Get a Roots-style supercharger like a JRSC.

Otherwise just rev it. That's the way the motor is, and nothing in terms of a bolt on is going to do much about it.

The loss of low end power is made up with vtec in the high end power. So you have to sacrifice one for the other.

Personally it pulls nicely around 2500 - 4000.. which for me is everyday shifting range. But Its nice to look down and know you got a few grand more to work with if need be

Keeps you on your toes... you need to be in the correct gear. The only thing disappointing for me when I got my GS-r was 2nd gear, it's way too tall... the jump from 1st to 2nd is way too large. SC would be the easiest way to add significant low end grunt.

Keep it around 4000 and you'll be fine. It's what I do.

What the hell are you doing from 0-3000?????? I launch at 5k, no need to be low in the rpms trying to race, there's just no power.

I think stumpyf4 hit it right on the money...after a little more driving, I finally pinpointed the problem....the jump from 1rst to 2nd gear. When you go into 2nd, there is a big drop in power due to the gear being to tall......hmmm..maybe if I can get a smaller 2nd gear.....
