Tridawg........your cool peoples, and stumpyf4 is cool peeps too, but lets just stop fighting guyz ....can't we all get just along ? Thats what websites like these are for....for people to state opinions about their cars and to ask questions....everybody's opinion is just that....their opinion...and there's nothing wrong with people stating their opinion. Is the GS-R a nice car ? Of course ! Can it be improved upon ? SURE ! Thats why tuner websites like this exist , because good cars can easily be made better ! Certain people think that the 2nd gear ratio could be improved upon (such as myself), and certain people dont mind the way it is, and there is nothing wrong with either opinion ! As far as this being a minute issue, this whole tuner thing is centered around issues that might seem minute to some people...mere tenths of seconds ! I mean jeez, people spend x thousands of dollars to improve their E.T. by 2 seconds ! Its all about what you think is important to you.... Its all good guyz. let's just have fun with this sh*t...

.Anyway, for 1700, I definetely will pick up an ITR tranny.....better gears, and limited slip ! How can you go wrong !

I agree with you, because you took the time on a serious note to explain why. Some people act very foolish when coming here and stick to there way ( cause to them its the BEST way ) Im never one to blurt out first and start the name calling but when someone acts like a tool and has to have the last word it pisses me off.

If the ITR tranny works out for you, please let me know. Im interested

I would feel more comfortable buying it from one of the online Honda parts sites. Probably cheaper than the dealer, but still new. Hell if I'm buying a used tranny, I'd rather be responsible if it blew up.

Honestly telling someone learn how to shift when you've never met no driving with the guy is flat out wrong. Try educating rather than insulting... you're a moderator!!

ITR tranny is on back order from the dealer for those interested.

Post dissecting is annoying at best.

The original post made no mention of a 1-2 shift, and yet so many people are debating the subject. Remember guys, he mentioned that his GSR feels sluggish at low RPM compared to his old LS. That most definitely does not have to do with gearing.

Eclipse spanker, what you are looking for will not be solved by an ITR transmission. The 1-2 gap on the GSR trans is not that different from the ITR (or a G2 GSR) and if you want an LSD get a Quaife diff. Regardless, I would stick to getting i/h/e before you go out and drop almost 2 grand on an ITR box.
