Exactly and where you would be hitting redline with the LS, you now have another 1k of power to boot!

Spend more time with the car, learn to work around the issue you're having. Why waste money on it?
Yes I work around the problem in daily driving however when I want to get the hell "out of dodge" that 1st to 2nd shift annoys me. Simply put the ITR has a better ratio.

Close ratio is close ratio no matter what vehicle you drive.

Wrong!! Try this 3rd to 3rd shift (pointless I know). So you're driving along in 3rd and clutch into neutral then back into 3rd, pop the clutch.... HUH that was abrupt!!! What happened?? Revs fell in the time it took to clutch.... identical ratio. :fawk:

Yes this is my technique for daily driving when shifting 1st to 2nd, I wait for the revs to drop and pop the clutch... it's smooth as butta. Yea I could slip the clutch but that's unneccessarily wearing the clutch.

this little argument of yours further enforces my statement that you need to learn to shift better.
Oh wise one... please teach me to shift. :fawk:

Honestly... there's different ways to skin a cat, you pick yours. I'll stick to blaming the cat.

Very true, it's a bit easier in my car than Chad's (Tridawg). I would imagine you could just get an ITR 2nd gear, but that's a lot of work for so little. Throw in a Quaiffe while you're at it. :naughty:

If you could deal with the high revs, I'd get a JDM ITR tranny. If not, an ITR swap would be worth it, for the LSD.

Hey how many 1st to 2nd shift do u do in one day? I drive 30kms to work and I tell you I do quite a few. I know how to work around this "ill conceived" gear ratio but when you're launching your car it's annoying. Honestly there is always something that can be improved upon (in my case I'll openly complain about it, what's the sense of hiding it?), even in the Porsche and Ferrari. Every new model gets better and better. Hey the new Integra (RSX-S) has a sixspeed!! I'd imagine it's 1st to 2nd ratio is closer than the GS-r.

The car has SOOO much potential. Why waste your time with a gear when you can throw on a CAI and make up for the split second of (supposable) engine lag between shifts ..
What u talkin' about Willis?? CAI ain't gonna take care of a lousy gear ratio. :slap:

.. Cause I know with my 7k mile GSR, I dont run into issue's shifting @ 8k and noticing a lag to second.
I know you don't have an issue with it... You have that "special issue" GS-r. :fawk:

its just not that much of a problem to worry about that would require money to switch out when you can be doing so much more with so much less $$$ fronted.
Different strokes for different folks... I know plenty of people that would be more than satisfied with a stock GS-r. Me I got my eye out for that special deal on an ITR tranny.

3rd gear synchro is on the way out. For what it's gonna cost me to replace the synchro and install a ITR LSD mind as well get the entire tranny. Mind you it must be the right deal... definitely need to test drive the car it's coming out of and it's gotta have the 4.400 final drive...4.785 is way to short for me.

$1700 at the dealer, maybe it was $2100.

Either way, that's not the place to get it.

I wasnt showing sign of weakness I just didnt want to be an ass .. but since you opened the door.

I think your a DUMBASS for worrying about such a minute problem. How F*cking Anal retentive does one have to be. OMG my second gear ratio is a tad longer then it should be. Im going to go out of my way to buy a ITR tranny. Why dont you just buy an ITR in the first place and skip the hassel? The GSR was made the way it was for a reason.. and when I was talking about the CAI and its infulence on the car I wasnt talking about it shorting up the gear ratio .. I was stating that 7more HP to the wheels might be enough where the drop wouldnt be as noticable...

So at that I leave you to dicking around with you GSR to make it something its not. Ill be content with what I bought and know that theres more to life then my ride ...

Peace
