Default Valve Adjustment?

I have a GSR with 17,000 miles and all I've been doing with regards to maintaince is oil changes and other fluid inspections. I was just curious do you think it is really necessary to get a valve adjustment for the first 15,000 mi? I heard it's kinda expensive and on a relatively new car do you think it really needs it? And what are the possible complications down the road if I waited until 30K mi to get it done?

I had mine done at 15K and it was well worth it.

I know the valve adjustments for the GSR's are spendy, but it's worth it. My friend has a 93 GSR and a 98 GSR and had valve adjustments on both and it made a noticable difference. I don't think he did it right at 15,000, but not long after that point.

My Acura dealership said they do the valve adjustment in a package deal at 30k. They said they do fluid checks, e-brake adjustment, spark plug change, valve adjustment, tire rotation and some other inspections....ok guess the price....$548!!!!
THAT'S WILD. I think I'm gonna go somewhere else.

GS-R comes w/ platinum plugs and should not need them changed until at least 60K miles. I personally use copper plugs and change them every 10K-15K miles.

:jawdrop: Got my 60k service @ Honda for $400. Honda usually has coupon specials over my way...Stealerships can be expensive but at least the job gets done right and back there work up with a 12 month / or 12k warranty.
